Winning the toss Australian captain opted to bat first, Skipper Finch alongside David Warner provided the good start once again for the Kangaroos before former being dismissed for 60(69) adding 142 runs for the first wicket. David Warner fell in quick succession with the suicidal run out for 83(77). But Smith continued to punish the Indian bowlers once again like the first ODI.
Smith and Labuschagne added 136 run for the 3rd wicket , where Smith gets his 100 off just 62 balls and then Maxwell finished in his style with 63(29)* summing Australian total to 389/4.
Chasing 390 on the board was never a easy walk , and Indian opener Dhawan and Mayank departs in quick succession adding 30 and 28 respectively. Skipper Virat and Iyer tried their best to build the innings but in the high asking rate pressure Iyer lost his wicket for 38(36). Rahul and Kohli tried their level best but with high asking rate , Virat went for the slog and Henriques stunner sent Indian captain back where he missed his century by 11 runs.
