Cricket Australia named a 23-man squad for the West Indies Visit on Monday. Australia will play five T-20 internationals and three One-Day Internationals during their tour.
Steve Smith, David Warner, Pat Cummins, and Josh Hazelwood are all included despite missing the March New Zealand series. Alex Carey and Moises Henriques have also extended an invitation.
Following the team announcement, Chief Selector Trevor stated that the team was chosen by considering the T20I World Cup, which could be held in India or the UAE in October or November.
Aston Agar, Adam Zampa, and Mitchell Swepson have been included in the squad because the tournament could be held on spin-friendly pitches in India or the United Arab Emirates. Tanveer Sangha, a leg spinner who did well in the Big Bash League and was even part of the team that played New Zealand in March, is also in the squad.
