Journey from AB De Villiers to Mr.360

Born on 17th feb 1984 , after the spell in SA U19 team AB debuted for Titans in 2003/04. AB made his test debut at the age of 20 yrs against the dominating English side. Opening the inning , he shows his presence in the very debut match and played a match saving knock in his very second test match batting down the order.

There is famous provokes “If the seed is good, there will be sleek leaves” and AB proved this provoke in his very early career , soon after his test debut he was called up for ODI as well and he made his ODI debut in early 2005 and T20I debut in 2006.

The first breakthrough for his ODI Career came in 2007 WC where he scored his maiden ODI ton vs West Indies and helped his team to win the match. He played few unorthodox shot in that match which include lap shot , Upper cut and his these shot impressed everyone.

Since then AB never looks back , On 4 April 2008, De Villiers became the first South African to score a double century against India with his top score of 217 , in same year AB scored 174 which helped SA to register 10 wicket win over ENG in English soil. AB powered SA to second highest chase in test (414) against the dangerous Aussies with match winning Century.

On 6 June 2011, then South Africa coach Gary Kirsten announced that AB de Villiers would be South Africa’s new limited-overs captain. AB record breaking year proved to be 2015, De Villiers scored both the fastest fifty and the fastest century by a batsman in One Day International cricket, off 16 balls and 31 balls respectively and eventually scoring 149 runs off 44 balls  against West Indies. From then even the man who was not fan SA was AB fan for sure , he was a complete entertainment package.

joining the league in its inaugural season, de Villiers has become one of the most successful batsmen in the IPL. After originally playing for Delhi Daredevils, he moved to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for US$1.5 million in the league’s fourth season. Three of his four Twenty20 centuries have come in the IPL and as of June 2019 he has played in over 150 matches in the league.He has played match-winning innings for RCB and shown some destructive batting against bowlers especially in the death overs.

He is referred to as “Mr. 360” due to his ability to play shots all around the wicket, and as “Superman” due to his acrobatic fielding In T20 cricket he is seen as an attacking batsman who plays a range of unconventional shots.

His minds work likes a computer while he bats, no one can predicts whats bowler gonna do next better than him and no bowler can predicts in which part of the ground AB gonna hit him.

His ability to switch from classical batting to breath-taking innovative strokes along with his consistent performance makes him the clear winner.

On 23 May 2018, De Villiers announced his retirement from all forms of international cricket through a video uploaded to Twitter, in which he explained his decision however his fan can enjoy his batting in various T20 League.

“If you think girls are most beautiful things god created in this world then trust me baby you haven’t seen AB De Villiers batting”.
