Nepal hosted Netherlands and Malaysia in a twenty-twenty format international cricket tournament in April 2021 in TU International cricket stadium in Kirtipur, Kathmandu. Nepal lifted the trophy of Tri-Nation-Series after beating the Netherlands in the finale by 142 runs which were the hosts biggest ever t20I win so far.
In the match held today, Netherlands won the toss and invited Nepal to bat first. This was 3rd meeting between the teams as they already played twice in the league stage of the tournament. In the first innings of the match, with the help of half-centuries from series debutant Kushal bhurtel and Kushal Malla and blistering innings from the vice-captain Dipendra Singh Airee, the hosts put on the total of 238/3, which was their biggest ever t20i total in history.
The hosts continued to play the impressive game in the second innings, and they restricted the visitors Netherlands to a total of 96/10 in 17.2 overs. Karan KC took 3 wickets for 11 runs in 3 overs he bowled while Nepal’s spin sensation Sandeep Lamichhane and Young Kamal Singh Airee shared 2 wickets each while Fast Bowler Abinash Bohora took one.
